That's all he can say about the Chattanooga jihad attack?

The awful Ron Marz is exploiting the horrible tragedy in Tennessee this week for more superficial critiques of firearms:

Notice for starters how he doesn't actually take the time to condemn the jihadist himself and the ISIS terrorists who were supporting him. Nor does he offer his condolences to the families of the victims, a 5th who tragically died earlier today. Then, notice how he apparently sees nothing wrong with army officials not being allowed to carry weapons. Soon, I guess police shouldn't be allowed to carry them either? That's been the case in Britain at times, and it did lead to some terrible losses.

He also shows neither interest nor concern about the killer's ideological upbringing, and again, all he can think of doing is blabbering about gun control. Yeah, keep it up, young master Marz. It's always weapons alone that are the problem, and never education or ideology.

Interestingly, Marz is the only comics writer I could find who had anything to say about the attack in Tennessee. Almost all others were strangely quiet. But maybe that's a good thing, because they may have realized they could screw up badly, as Marz did with his dreadful comments.

Isn't there one religion out there that doesn't have any bloodshed in it?

Christianity and Judaism had their violent periods, but they eventually outgrew it. Islam hasn't.

The Chattanooga tragedy, unlike the Charleston massacre, does not fit the leftist agenda, so the usual suspects are ignoring it or downplaying it. Obama spent the weekend touring Greenwich Village with his daughter. If any media pundits (or comic book writers) do comment on it, they will blame it on the NRA. Or they will claim it was an inside job by the CIA and the military.

And what would be wrong with "more guns" in the hands of competent, trained professionals? Wayne LaPierre was ridiculed for saying that the way to stop armed bad guys was to have armed good guys on the scene, but the incident in Garland, Texas proved him right. And, after the Maalot massacre, the Israelis put armed guards in schools, and have not had any successful mass school shootings since. The exception was a field trip to a park on the Jordanian border, when the chaperones were unarmed.

Obama will probably classify the Chattanooga massacre as "a random shooting" or "workplace violence" instead of as terrorism. The victims will be denied the medals, and their families will be denied benefits, that they deserve.

After the Charleston tragedy, moderate Republicans advocated banning the Confederate flag as a healing gesture. Will moderate Muslims now propose banning the Koran?

You know, have you ever considered the possibility that most people who work in the comic book industry don't really care about conservative or liberal leanings and really only concentrate on one thing: money?

Drag, if all they cared about is money they are doing poorly. They would learn to shut up about their extremist views, instead they continue to reduce their readers daily.

That would imply that they had talent in writing in the first place.

  • I was born in Pennsylvania in 1974, and moved to Israel in 1983. I also enjoyed reading a lot of comics when I was young, the first being Fantastic Four. I maintain a strong belief in the public's right to knowledge and accuracy in facts. I like to think of myself as a conservative-style version of Clark Kent. I don't expect to be perfect at the job, but I do my best.
