The Jessica Jones TV show employs all female directors for its 2nd season
For its second season, the Marvel-Netflix production recruited female directors to helm all 13 episodes — an achievement that aligns with the series’ reputation as an envelope-pushing, women-centric drama featuring a complicated female protagonist. Though more female filmmakers have entered the spotlight in recent years — 2017 saw massive successes from directors Patty Jenkins, Greta Gerwig, and Dee Rees — women directed only 11 percent of the year’s top 250 films, according to the 2017 “Celluloid Ceiling” study from San Diego State University’s Center for the Study of Women in Television and Film. Jessica Jones‘ female-led set in season 2, in other words, is a remarkable triumph.Oh please! Bad as Hollywood can be, they've been inclusive of women before, as Kathryn Bigelow's rise to fame can attest. This whole step in Jessica Jones, on the other hand, isn't exactly what you'd call inclusive of men, if all of this season's episodes are directed entirely by women, and who knows if they're all talented? But what's really bothersome is the leftist politics this series may be built on, to say nothing of its being based on material by Brian Bendis, notorious for his ill-treatment of Scarlet Witch in Avengers: Disassembled, which no progressives will take issue with him for.
[...] And assembling the all-women lineup, it turns out, wasn’t hard to do. “It didn’t take a lot of effort to fill those slots,” Rosenberg says. “There’s a lot of highly qualified and talented female directors out there, so what we did was simply open the door. It wasn’t like we had to give a bunch of women their first break. It was just being inclusive.”
That's why this show just doesn't interest me in the slightest. Why must I give an audience to a program based on the overrated works of Bendis?

Yes, as your one example can attest ...
Hollywood is notoriously tough for female directors.

LOL. Let's see. I can name multiple female directors off the bat. Kathryn Bigelow, Jane Campion, Olivia Wilde, Patty Jenkins, Nancy Meyers, Sam Taylor-Johnson, Betty Thomas, Joan Chen, Nora Ephron, Chloe Zhao, Ava DuVernay, Greta Gerwig, Emerald Farrell, Sofia Coppola, Penny Marshall, Barbra Streisand, Lexi Alexander, Sarah Polley, Nia DaCosta, Amy Heckerling, Penelope Spheeris, Niki Caro, etc.
They've all had successful movies at some point.
Nice try, Anonymous, but no dice. You might sit this one out.
