WCAX in Vermont told of a convention dedicated specially to non-fiction comics in Burlington:

“Read some comics, appreciate comics, learn from comics,” said Co-organizer Teppi Zuppo.

Learning from comic books was the idea for this convention at the first ever Non-fiction Comics Festival in Burlington. The Fletcher Free Library hosted the event. Organizers from the Vermont Folklife Center say there are lots of comic book lovers in Vermont.

It sounds pretty clever. But there's an unfortunate chance this convention is being run for leftist propaganda purposes, because:

The festival was filled with different kinds of work. Comic creators set up tables for community members to see their illustrations. Isabella Rotman traveled from Maine to be there. She creates sex education books and a few other pieces of art. She says it’s exciting to go to a non-fiction convention. That’s not something you see every day.

I did some research into her non-fiction comic, titled "Wait, What?: A Comic Book Guide to Relationships, Bodies, and Growing Up", and the overview says it's:

Inclusive of different kinds of genders, sexualities, and other identities...

What an embarrassment. Instead of offering simple sex education based on differences between 2 genders, as used to be the case in decades past at most junior high schools, they serve up a view based on junk science to serve indoctrination purposes. And this taints the whole image of the non-fiction comics convention. Gee, what a shame. As a result, how can we be certain most other non-fiction comics seen at the festival won't contain some bad leftist propaganda of their own, along more political lines? Not to mention that right-wing productions are probably next to none there. If the festival is that biased, then it'd be for the best if this first of its kind in New England would be the last. A politicized festival never works out well.
