Deadline's announced a French studio's adapting a comic titled Frnck, which is a time travel story set in the prehistoric era:

France Télévisions has put into development a 26-part animated series based on the comic book Frnck.

French production house Superprod is attached to make the show, in which Franck, a 13-year-old orphan, suddenly finds himself transported back to the prehistoric era, surrounded by hungry dinosaurs, giant insects, and ferocious plants, only to be saved by a 14-year-old prehistoric girl, Kenza, who takes him into her tribe and gives him a chance to finally fit into a family.

Frnck is based on artist Brice Cossu and writer Olivier Bocquet’s comic book series, which was originally published in kids magazine Spirou in 2016 and later released as graphic novels by Dupuis. It has now been translated into nine languages, and spans ten volumes at the time of writing, with more than 600,000 copies sold.

Well good luck marketing this new cartoon, but we seem to have an unfortunate example here of how even a European comic in paperback or hardcover format may not sell huge, as it sounds like this item has from the sum that's still well under a million copies in sales. I'm sorry, but 600,000 or so still isn't getting anywhere in terms of being convincing in sales. And noticing the art sample they have from the cartoon indicates it'll be a 3D production, I can't say I find that particularly appealing, since in the USA, 3D's been used far too much by this point.
