Marvel brings back the Ultimate universe...with Saladin Ahmed at the helm
Three years after its seeming closure in the final moments of Secret Wars, the Ultimate Universe will be returning "in a big way" in September's Miles Morales: Spider-Man #10, according to series writer Saladin Ahmed. Not if somebody as awful as Ahmed's turned out to be is writing it. After all the bile he spewed, their continued employment of him is shameful and inappropriate. All that aside, the Ultimate universe hasn't exactly been in big demand for the number of years since it was originally discarded as the flash-in-the-pan concept it always was. So, why should this be the big deal they want us to believe it is? I just don't see why. Especially with 4 dollar-plus price tags that're bound to discourage all but the most monumentally addicted to the hobby. This just isn't worth it.
"Without getting into too much detail, the Ultimate Universe returns in a big way with Miles Morales: Spider-Man #10," Ahmed tells Newsarama.

...why would they bring that trash can of a universe back? It wasn't good when it first started out, it wasn't good when it finally ended, and it certainly won't be good no matter who pens it.
