We may only be able to change the reader demographic if the publishers work to that effect
The Statesman Journal of Salem, Oregon, has an article about a comic store owner who sells more in his store than just comic books. At the end of the page, he says:
The ability to change for the better rests mostly is a choice that rests in the hands of the comics publishers, editors and writers.
"The demographic for comic book stores is usually guys 18 to 40. I want to change that."So would I, but, while it's not like there aren't books for children out there, IMO, it's only when say, Marvel and DC tone down the more mature content they're putting out now that the demographic will be able to add younger folks to its roster again.
The ability to change for the better rests mostly is a choice that rests in the hands of the comics publishers, editors and writers.
