Oh dear. The overrated Hollywood writer/producer who never added much of anything to Spider-Man last decade has now been assigned to write the sans-adjective Superman - not just the alternate world Earth One title - and also Wonder Woman's series.
I don't expect this to make many waves either, and his run on the Brave and the Bold certainly hasn't done big numbers; it's coming close to cancelation as it is. One of the quotes JMS gives here that really annoys me is:

I won't be surprised however, if his liberal political bent does find its way in though, and will be anything but subtle.

As much as I loved Babylon 5 (although I found the final season uninteresting and dropped out before it finished), I'm not sure he's done anything worthwhile comics-wise as of late. His "Red Circle" and "Brave and the Bold" (not the cartoon-based one) aren't exactly receiving rave reviews. Why put him in the main Superman title, or replace Gail Simone, who is usually the one fans rave about most when it comes to Wonder Woman?
DC makes no sense, but I just spent three days chronicling that.
I loved Babylon 5, too, but JMS lost me as a fan and a potential customer when he made a remark that it was appropriate that Ronald Reagan had alzheimer's because he (supposedly) was responsible for leaving senior citizens without a home because his budget cutting as governor of California caused a massive closing of nursing homes (which was just not true).
I did try to read some of his Spider-Man issues, but he lost me with the whole "Normal Osbourne fathered Gwen Stacy's kids" thing.
