Roy Harper goes back to smoking drugs
In the third issue of the inappropriately titled Rise of Arsenal, he goes to buy and smoke heroin:

Update: The Titans Tower Monitor has more on the flak this has been deservedly getting, and a good point is made on how this is one of more than a few books at DC that have suffered from far too much editorial interference and mandates.
Pages 12 & 13: His daughter dead, and his dead friend prodding him, Roy decides to jump down off the rooftop in full costume and buy some heroin from a street dealer. And that, along with some of the violence porn that fills the book, kills it for real. They sure know how to crap all over the good lessons he learned since his teen years.
Page 14 & 15: he smokes heroin and nods out, in a two page spread.

Sigh. I wish I could say I was surprised.
Well, I guess I am surprised that he didn't first kill the dealer, the take and smoke his stash. That's what DC "heroes" do these days, after all...

It's friggin nightmare this is. Didio is so retarded.
Makes more scared for the Vertigo imprint since a couple of folks on the net wish for Swamp Thing to come back to the DCU. I'll be damned if we lose John Constantine and Tefe (Ace and Abby's kid) over this asinine request.

They need to stop with these Grant Morrison cameos. It was cute at first, but it's just lame now.

I think as characters in comic books show more of the "less than ideal" vices that exist in the real world, it makes for comic books that are even more difficult for readers to take.
Cheers!
