It's missing the wings on his head, but for the time period the costume at least makes sense and can work for the live action version while still channeling the classic costume.
In other words, I've seen far worse. (Steel, Catwoman, and every version of the Punisher come to mind.)

I was a little surprised at first when I saw the suspender-belts worn on the shoulders, but as I realize, they were in fashion around that time. So that part of the costume does make some sense.
