Jimmy Palmiotti references an important crime case

Palmiotti's pointed to the history of one of the most notorious cases of rape and murder that took place in the USA:

The case of the murders of Christian/Newsom was one of the most horrific black-vs-white hate crimes ever recorded in history, and something a lot of leftists ignored in 2007. If it had been a case of white-vs-black, the story would be different.

Palmiotti is one leftist who's done the right thing by reminding everybody of this terrible crime, and we'll certainly have to give him credit for that.

He may be a leftist, but I'd be willing to be more forgiving toward him after he referenced this. Curiously, there's an interesting compare/contrast to the Zimmerman case, as the Zimmerman judge shot down certain defense motions, which really should have been let in, while the Knoxville one gave the defense a wider latitude. You make the call.

And Glenn Beck also referenced the Knoxville horror, though, sadly, he didn't know of it until recently.

I respect Beck, and glad he's getting around to it, but, yeah, others like Michelle Malkin and Nicholas Stix have been on the matter since 2007. Better late than never, I suppose? Same with Palmiotti.

+1 to what Avi, especially on the double standards.

Yeah, I remember hearing about this case back when it happened. It was pretty horrible. Of course, no one at school wanted to talk about it, but pretty much every liberal I knew on Facebook had something to say about the Zimmerman trial (and other things). I pointed out the double standards a few times on Facebook when the Zimmerman trial was still going on. I got yelled at by a liberal relative, but overall people seemed to agree with me.

I'm glad Palmiotti has acknowledged it, and I'll give him some credit for that.

Palmiotti is a lefty, but he appears to be a fair and rational one. I'm sure he probably got grief from his peers for tweeting this.

Cases like the Knoxville Horror are sort of the emperor's new clothes in reverse: you are supposed to pretend you don't notice them, or you are a racist.

Next to the Knoxville case, the offenses about which President Obama complains (those evil, racist white people locking their car doors or clutching their purses tightly) kind of pale in comparison.
