Dan Slott's assigned to write all Spider-Men into one "event"

The Verge says Marvel's latest publicity stunt will feature every Spider-Man in history:
Marvel today announced that it plans on bringing all the versions of Spider-Man that ever existed together in a mega-event series that sounds almost too crazy to be true. Spider-Verse, penned by popular writer Dan Slott, will pit Peter Parkers from throughout history, all his allies that ever donned a Spider costume, and even his counterparts from across the Marvel multiverse against a single enemy that's out to absorb their power for some unknown end. [...]
But it won't feature the continuity a lot of purists find the best, with Mary Jane Watson, will it? No, I doubt it. Marvel threw that away nearly 7 years ago. However, I won't be surprised if it does feature Ben Reilly, co-star of the catastrophous Clone Saga.

And shame on the Verge for calling Slott "popular". With his blatant attitude and political view? I don't think so.

This new so-called event is further proof that Marvel's abandoning the position they originally took with the Ultimate line, saying in 2000 it would never cross over with the flagship universe. Now, it's clear they're doing it just to make a quick buck.
