Greta VanSusteren inteviews Chuck Dixon & Paul Rivoche

Dixon and Rivoche were given an interview on VanSusteren's program the other night in a followup to their WSJ op-ed.

It was actually Dana Perino subbing for Greta. But it was still a pleasant surprise to see this issue highlighted on Fox.

Comics have actually been leaning left since at least the early 1970's (e.g., the Denny O' Neil/Neal Adams run on Green Lantern-Green Arrow, the Secret Empire arc in Captain America). It seems to have become more blatant in recent years. It's partly because of (as Dixon noted) a coterie of leftist editors. But it may also be the publishers trying to appeal to their core audience. My impression is that most fans who regularly buy comics now are politically correct, Obama-loving, Bush-hating, blame-America-first Democrats. So it may simply be a case of DC and Marvel trying to provide what their customers presumably want.

But does the medium lean left to appeal to its leftist audience, or is it that leftists are the only audience for comics now, because the medium leans left? It's a kind of chicken-and-egg question.

And superhero movies haven't usually been as overtly political as the comics, but some do have a leftist slant. Iron Man 3, in particular, reflected the "blame America for everything" mentality.

Those cute little kids who grew up in the fifties and early sixties gradually morphed into the writers of the 70s and 80s. Or older writers who saw where the green smoke was blowing an

Now we're cursed with their ERA/ offspring and their worthless grand kids who sit around on Reddit all day, posting pictures of household pets with unintelligible captions and sneering about how much they hate religion and how intelligent they are because of it. Monkey see, monkey do.

Unfortunately they don't seem to care that most of their old customers have jumped ship.

'Or older writers who saw where the green smoke was blowing and followed it.'
