Supergirl TV show continues its assault on Americans who want border security

The ultra-liberal rhetoric in the Supergirl TV series churns on and on, and this time, they're making Mexican immigrants look like saints at the expense of white Americans. Here's a sample of transcript from a recent episode where heroine Kara's lesbian sister, recently married in a lesbian wedding, holds a party, and her Mexican immigrant dad, who threw her out of the house when she was 14 shows up, but wants to leave in disgust and has the following argument:
Maggie: You're just gonna walk out? After all this time, that's it?It's hard to tell, but it sounds almost like, if a Mexican's the one disapproving of homosexuality, that's okay, whereas for white Americans it's not? Hmm, how odd a double standard that would be.
Rodas: I can't do this.
Maggie: Can't do what? Tell me, please. What exactly have I done that is so offensive to you?
Rodas: You spit in my face.
Maggie: I spit in your face? For loving somebody. I can't, I don't understand. I don't get it.
Rodas: I came to this country at nine years old. At eleven, I was working in a factory.Tsk tsk. They're invoking the usual one-dimensional cliche of whites being racists. His recollection sounds pretty farfetched, because if he'd really been assaulted as badly as implied, he'd spend more time in the hospital than at the factory.
Maggie: Yes, I know. Yeah.
Rodas: Do you? Do you know I was the only Mexicano working alongside a bunch of white boys? Do you know that they would wait for me at night by the road, and laugh and call me wetback, and kick me 'til my ribs were broken?
Maggie: Dad what does this have to do—It seems strange he would say the same men who assaulted him would later elect him a sheriff. Or, how could he qualify for election to law enforcement if he didn't have proper citizenship? There's something jumbled about this. Why would he work to earn the respect of people who physically injured him?
Rodas: With you being a lesbian? I worked...to win their respect. Those same boys, when they grew up, elected me their sheriff. I endured for my children...so that you would never have to face that kind of hatred. So that you would belong.
Maggie: I am accepted for who I am. The world is different now.At this point, you could wonder if they're playing two sides of the same coin, glorifying homosexuality and pushing all immigrants for sainthood, yet at the same time bashing one and even the other, playing both ends against the middle. Quite a bizarre irony, I'm sure. The indirect attack on conservatives - and just about any Americans - who want a border wall built for security against terrorists infiltrating, is also offensive. Once more, it's clear a concept that was originally intended for entertainment in the Silver Age has been hijacked on screen for some of the most vicious SJW propaganda around, even as it may take a double-standard on who gets to be critical of the left's positions and who doesn't.
Rodas: [Laughs sarcastically] They're building a wall to keep us out because in their minds, we are nothing but rapists and murderers. The only thing they hate more than a Mexicano is a homosexual. The world is not different, my dear. Look. You can live any way you please. But don't ask me to witness it.

I could be very wrong, but I think the "logic" Rodas or the writer was going for: them white racist boys eventually became "enlightened" by putting Rodas in a position of authority over them as sheriff. The dialogue seems to be set up for "when Rodas was younger, things were racist, but now...," as Maggie then points out, until Rodas undermines the previous hope spot with his subsequent rant. It's not very good dialogue, quite frankly, but that's not the point, is it? It's the writer or writers showing off what's annoying them, today, along with the usual anti-White invective.
On the murderer front, given the devolution of Acapulco from famous tourist trap to Mexico's top murder capital, well, let's just say the country has seen better days:

I also find the "X or Y hate homosexuals" tangent to be pure chutzpah, after all the pro-gay triumphalism that's occurred within the past few years in actual reality. Rodas hasn't seen what passes for in-universe TV or movies in the past year?

Plus, didn't the actor who plays Winn lightly joked about Lena/Kara or saying they were "just friends!", got yelled at, then he did the usual apology tour, this past summer? Joking about femmeslash (or saying "they're just friends!") is serious business, yo.
As always, scenes like these confirm that not watching Supergirl is, pardon the pun, a super-sensible decision. I feel sorry for those who are emotionally invested in the series to put up with such rot, unless the audience is full SJW. Who else would be watching, I guess?

They may be trying to show the characters in shades of gray, rather than black and white, evil and good. A traditional right-wing conservative Hispanic Catholic guy is going to be against his daughter's gay marriage; he is also not likely to be in favor of building a wall. He seems to be a legal immigrant by the way; that is why he is able to run for sheriff.
The Israeli border wall is to protect against terrorists, and I can understand why an Israeli would feel sympathy for an American wall proposal, given all the flack Israel has got over their wall internationally. But there have been no incidents of terrorists sneaking across the Mexican border to blow themselves up in Los Angeles or Las Vegas. And it doesn't protect against drug dealers; those guys tend to come by boats which can carry more cargo, or by mules who fly in. The Coast Guard does not have enough money and manpower to stop all the boats loaded with drugs that their intelligence tips them off are coming in; they are being defunded even further to fund the wall. The proposed American border wall is to reduce illegal immigration, although it has the side effect of also stopping the migrants who come over very year to pick fruit.
