Marvel isn't the best place to adapt League of Legends

I'm not sure if I'd written about this before, but I'd found the news Marvel licensed the video game League of Legends for adaptation. At least two characters have miniseries produced so far, first Warmother and now Lux:
Riot Games and Marvel Comics are teaming up to deliver a new comic book series centered around League of Legends champion Luxanna Crownguard. The new series is helmed by John O’Bryan (The Last Airbender TV series) and follows Lux as she deals with keeping her magical abilities a secret in Demacia, a ruling kingdom that abolishes the use of magic.
I looked at the artwork for what's been produced so far, and it honestly looks mediocre, even if not the monstrosity several other Marvel universe books proper suffered from since Axel Alonso was EIC. One more reason I don't understand why the owners thought Marvel the perfect place to license for adaptation. Their new Conan books could easily be mediocre and PC, so we shouldn't be surprised if these League of Legends books don't fare much better.

There was a time Marvel did handle licensed merchandise adaptations well, beginning with Bill Mantlo's adaptation of Micronauts in 1979. But times have changed considerably, and I'm not optimistic about these League comics, which aren't bound to sell in millions, and many copies could end up in the bargain bin.
