Two prominent characters in Batman race-swapped for yet another needless upcoming remake

The Hollywood race-changing for the sake of virtue-signaling continues, with not one, but two notable roles in the umpteenth Batman adaptation being changed to black. For example, as told by the Hollywood Reporter, police commissioner James Gordon:
There's going to be a new commissioner in Gotham City.

Westworld star Jeffrey Wright is in negotiations to play Commissioner Gordon, the classic ally to the Dark Knight, in Matt Reeves' The Batman. Robert Pattinson is headlining what is being planned as a grounded take on as the DC Comics crime-fighter. Casting is in the early stages for a who's who of Batman's rogue gallery.
Yes, Wright is black. But, wasn't the prior trilogy of movies by Christopher Nolan "grounded"? I guess that's why the turn to race-swapping this time, as it'll be the only way to differentiate from previous takes on the same material, which has decidedly been one of the most overused in all of the DC properties for film adaptations.

Then, as The Wrap notes, there's Catwoman:
Zoe Kravitz has been cast as Selina Kyle, a.k.a. Catwoman, in Matt Reeves’ “The Batman,” an individual with knowledge of the project told TheWrap.

Robert Pattinson will play the Dark Knight in the upcoming Warner Bros. film. Reeves and Mattson Tomlin wrote the screenplay, and the film is being produced by Reeves and Dylan Clark. Michael E. Uslan is executive producing. It is set to start filming in January in the U.K.

Reeves took over as director after Ben Affleck stepped away from both that position and as the film’s star, saying that he would be hanging up the cape for good. Reeves has since described the film as a “defining” and “very personal” story about the Dark Knight, rather than an origin story in the vein of Frank Miller’s beloved “Year One” series.
I honestly wonder what's so great about Miller's material that isn't so great about Denny O'Neil's? As for Kravitz, she's of mixed background, but is mainly black too, so we have here another example of more than one case of race-swapping in the same film.

As for Affleck abandoning the role of Batman, at least that's one bit of better news, since he was never popular in the role to begin with. But the whole race-swapping business got tired long ago, and unlike Eartha Kitt's take on Catwoman in the late 60s, this is more politically motivated a casting choice.

And all these Batman adaptations have decidedly become the most tiresome of all, and will surely cause loss of interest sooner or later, especially if Bruce Wayne and Alfred Pennyworth are next on Time Warner's choice of race-swapping plans.

So it is okay for Eartha Kitt and Halle to play Catwoman, but not okay for a half-Jewish half-black Zoe Kravitz to do it? And you don’t mind if Wonder Woman gets portrayed by Israeli or part-Mexican actresses instead of a Greek one? The logic is hard to understand.

Not okay when it’s done to pander to the lunacy of inclusion... Go read a book on logic dude!
