Saladin Ahmed given access to Daredevil

Multiversity Comics announced one of the most reprehensible authors ever employed by Marvel, who's written anti-Israeli rhetoric in past years, is being given the reins to writing Hornhead:
Marvel Comics have revealed “Daredevil” will be relaunched by writer Saladin Ahmed and artist Aaron Kuder in September. The announcement was made on the company’s This Week in Marvel podcast in an interview with Ahmed and his predecessor, Chip Zdarsky, whose run will conclude in August.

Not much was said about where we’ll find Matt Murdock at the start of the new volume, although it appears he will no longer be leader of the Fist, the group dedicated to destroying the Hand. Matt became the leader of the Fist, along with his beloved Elektra, during Zdarsky and Marco Checchetto’s run, following the conclusion of the ‘Devil’s Reign’ crossover earlier on in 2022.

Ahmed commented, “I wanted to only take this job on if I felt like I had a new, unique take on Matt and on Hell’s Kitchen. And so that’s at the center of this… him and his world, but it’s the Marvel Universe. What I’ve really enjoyed in talking with other editors, other offices, is finding ways through these first couple of arcs we have planned to keep this centered on Matt, keep this centered on his people, in his world, but to bring (in a very organic and surprising fun way) some familiar Marvel figures that I think are going to blow people’s mind when they pop up on the page!”
Since Ahmed was one of the writers on the Muslim Ms. Marvel, one can only wonder if he'll put in more propaganda similar to what was seen there, and Mark Waid preceded him in that sense over a decade ago. This is just another example of how DD lost merit and relevance since the turn of the century, as Matt Murdock was destroyed as a character by some of the most overrated scribes ever hired within that time.

And "organic"? Please. It's been painfully obvious Marvel hasn't been interested in that for a long time, nor any fun. Even the mere mention of "relaunch" is telling of how much faith they really have in their directions.

About me

  • I'm Avi Green
  • From Jerusalem, Israel
  • I was born in Pennsylvania in 1974, and moved to Israel in 1983. I also enjoyed reading a lot of comics when I was young, the first being Fantastic Four. I maintain a strong belief in the public's right to knowledge and accuracy in facts. I like to think of myself as a conservative-style version of Clark Kent. I don't expect to be perfect at the job, but I do my best.
