Scottish independent publisher closes down
An award nominated independent publishing house has announced it is winding down the business citing the financial impact of Brexit and the Covid-19 pandemic.I honestly wonder what Brexit has to do with all this? I can believe Covid-19 played a part, but Brexit was merely intended to provide the UK with some more ability to self-govern apart from the EU and even run their trade industry more independently. What do these folks think they're achieving by dragging Brexit into all this anyway? If there's any complaint these folks should be making, it's the same ones Nigel Farage made, about the Tories failing to deliver so far on the promises made.
Black Hearted Press (BHP) which which was set up in 2011, became one of the countries leading publisher of comic books and graphic novels. [...]
The company had expanded into the US market in 2019 but founder Sha Nazir said the international side of the business had struggled due to shrinking profit margins and escalating costs, exacerbated by the complexities of Brexit and the pandemic.
I'm sorry the comic publisher closed down, but it's not helping to blame literally everything on Brexit alone. Why, what if they turned out any PC-laden stories that didn't appeal to overseas crowds, or even domestic? If so, wouldn't that be something to fault?
