Jamie Lee Curtis follows in Keanu Reeves' footsteps

The veteran actress is writing an eco-horror graphic novel, according to Entertainment Weekly (via Breitbart), all in preparation for her own directorial debut at the movies:
Jamie Lee Curtis may have wrapped her role in Halloween Ends, but she's not leaving the terror-tale genre behind.

EW can exclusively report that Titan Comics will publish Mother Nature, an eco-horror graphic novel co-written by Curtis, this fall. The actress penned the graphic novel with filmmaker Russell Goldman, and the story is illustrated by Karl Stevens. Mother Nature is adapted from the script for the upcoming Comet Pictures and Blumhouse horror movie of the same name, which will be directed by Curtis.

[...] Stevens added, "I was immediately blown away by the depth of the characters, the perfect blend of action and gore, the urgent ecological message, and how all these things would translate beautifully into a graphic novel. It's a joy and privilege to work with Titan Comics and Blumhouse on this project. I'm producing the best work of my career!"
The way they went about this is even more blatant than how Keanu Reeves' so-called masterpiece, BRZRKR, was promoted, right down to the fishy sounding emphasis on ecology, which could just as well be liberal propaganda. But the focus on gore...that I understand. Again, it's just way too much, and not enough focus on optimism or comedy, let alone anything that could make you think. Maybe most stupefying is that, if darkness is necessary for storytelling, none of these so-called artistic types ever want to touch on subjects like Islamic terrorism; they've practically spent the past 20 years shutting it out of any meaty focus in Hollywood.

Curtis may be a veteran with a fine reputation, but that doesn't mean this is a project to make such a big deal out of. If people would avoid buying stories like these, the world could become a much better place.
