Newly elected California Democrat takes office oath over a rare back issue of Superman's first spinoff series from 1939
It’s a bird, it’s a plane, it’s — Congressman-elect Robert Garcia. One of the commentors at Fox News' coverage of this report thought it ludicrous the guy's obscuring the Bible for this, and maybe there's a point to that. Certainly, it's impressive he learned how to read by spending time reading the comics, but what's sad is that Garcia's bound to follow an ultra-liberal agenda, and not be very faithful to Truth, Justice and the American Way, as is the Superman slogan since the early 1940s. California's already approved only so much woke ideology, and Garcia's unlikely to oppose it. So what good does it do to claim he's a fan of the Man of Steel any more than Barack Obama claimed he's a collector of Spider-Man and Conan comics? These would-be collectors, alas, are never very faithful to the stories they say they've read.
