Leaked plot details about James Gunn's new Superman movie only lead to divisive atmosphere

Cosmic Book News says video filmer Nerdrotic has discovered leaked details about pretentious filmmaker James Gunn's upcoming Superman movie that aren't very encouraging about where this is supposedly going:
According to the leak:

“In the movie, Superman is frustrated by social media backlash, with the hashtag #SuperShit being mentioned several times as really getting under his skin. Meanwhile, in Lex’s interdimensional world, hundreds of mutant monkeys are shown typing furiously at keyboards, flooding social media with hate against Superman.”

James Gunn’s revenge on the internet

Why the reactions haven’t been good is because if sounds like James Gunn will be sending “The Message” — just as he did with Creature Commandos.

Regardless of what side of the political spectrum you’re on, I think we can all agree that when the agenda comes ahead of story, the story suffers.

The leak makes it sound like James Gunn has a vendetta, trying to settle a score from seven years ago when he was fired by Disney/Marvel. It seems like he’s using Superman as a personal weapon to get back at conservatives.

Gunn did something similar in Creature Commandos when he included an Incel army, which made zero sense in the context of the story. He just put them in to stick it to a certain fan base. There’s no doubt about that.
Well there were signs before he was going to shoehorn the usual ideologies liberals have become obsessed with pandering to into the screenplay, so this isn't really a surprise if he couldn't resist exacting revenge upon the crowd he clearly sees as responsible for the discoveries that originally got him booted from Disney employment. Let us be clear. Gunn may have only made jokes about sexual assault, but there are still certain lines that can't be crossed when it comes to serious issues. What he did was bad for PR, and still is. And all that aside, it's not good PR to be making divisive political statements in press interviews either. Though it does give another suggestion where this film could be going.

Here's some more details:
After the wild rumor about interdimensional mutant monkeys trolling Superman leaked online, new details reveal James Gunn’s Superman movie also mocks the Snyder Cut and includes a fake news storyline led by Lex Luthor.

It’s becoming increasingly clear that Gunn can’t help himself and is inserting his personal beliefs into the DCU and the Superman movie. Instead of being hopeful and inspiring, it’s all about the agenda. It hasn’t worked out for Disney, Marvel, Star Wars, Doctor Who, the list goes on.

[...] Regardless, it sounds like Gunn is making fun of all the Snyder Cut fans out there, a lot of whom aren’t happy that Henry Cavill is no longer Superman and that Gunn has taken over the DCU. Well, it sounds like Gunn is laughing at them, much the same way Gunn may be using the monkeys that troll Superman online to get back at the people who canceled him years ago — the same backlash that got him fired from Disney… which leads to…
Again, sounds like Gunn's vindictive for the time when movie buffs discovered the aforementioned social media posts. Very dumb. As for the 2013 Zack Snyder Superman film, I don't think it helped in the long run, based on how it was heavily influenced by Batman's angle (and in Batman vs. Superman, there were even allusions to real life politics like illegal immigration from a left-wing perspective), but that doesn't mean Gunn should be mocking that either, since all he's doing is sending signals he thinks he's literally doing far better than Snyder ever did, when merit is what matters, not silly mockery of somebody else's film.

In addition to the above, Comic Book Movie also provided the info, which appears to come from a news scooper on X:
Now, scooper MTTSH has shared some story details, and while these sound like fairly minor plot points, they are sure to raise a few eyebrows.

"In the movie, Superman is frustrated by social media backlash, with the hashtag #SuperShit being mentioned several times as really getting under his skin. Meanwhile, in Lex’s interdimensional world, hundreds of mutant monkeys are shown typing furiously at keyboards, flooding social media with hate against Superman."

Again, this is more than likely a running joke or possibly even a one-off sight gag, so best not to read too much into it. Even so, with some fans concerned about the level of humor (and a certain type of humor, at that) in the movie, these details may not go over very well.
That's because, when it's become so frequent, yet the filmmakers vehemently refuse to move away from divisive tactics - let alone the political ideologies they go by - it becomes insufferable. But, I stopped caring long ago about these film adaptations, because they've long come at the expense of serious drama, and now it would seem as though major studios are no longer willing to finance many projects that aren't science fiction or action, according to some veteran filmmakers. Even though they could save money that way on all those overbearing special effects.

It remains to be seen what the outcome will be regarding yet another Superman film. If it tanks, it'll only continue to demonstrate why neither Marvel nor DC movies are profitable anymore, because the studios and filmmakers continue their refusal to let merit make the movie instead of the "message". And it'll confirm all the more why DC/Marvel don't belong in the ownership of corporations.
