Where did the misuse of Tigra first begin?

Brian Bendis's assault on Tigra through a villain called the Hood has gotten some people justifiably mad. But where did it all begin that Tigra was first misused, and that Bendis may have been "inspired" to further the pain? If memory serves, Bendis once said a few years ago when he first did Disassembled and wrecked havoc upon Scarlet Witch that he was inspired by John Byrne's run on West Coast Avengers, where Tigra was turned even more into a cat than need be. And the following from Comics in Context #63 on IGN certainly tells something:
But if Bendis took his idea for Scarlet Witch from Byrne's run on WCA in 1989-90, then his idea to beat up on Greer Grant must've come from WCA and Byrne as well. After all, during that time, Greer went berserk, gaining the crazy personality of a real cat, and had to be restrained until she could be cured. So now you know where Bendis is drawing his would-be inspiration from.
I found the panels showing the Hood beating up on Greer (via Fortress of Fortitude), and I want to say just one thing: sick. So now, which is worse - Byrne's tale, or Bendis's, or both?
But there's more: it's also an imitation of John Byrne's "Dark Scarlet Witch" arc in Avengers West Coast (Panels from that story line are even excerpted in this new saga!), with the important difference that Byrne didn't have her kill other heroes and restored her sanity.By now, all signs are that Wanda didn't kill any heroes this time either, but that won't excuse the abuse that's been done a second time. One thing I'm not sure of now - was it Byrne who restored Wanda's sanity again, or, was it Roy and Dann Thomas?
