Will Johns and Kolins reach legendary status? By now, I frankly doubt it
Broken Frontier writes about Geoff Johns and Scott Kolins coming back to work on Rogues' Revenge, and they say:
So I'm really not sure by now if their run will ever be considered a true classic or even famous in the years to come. Theirs is just another sign of how, in this beginning decade of the 21st century, comics began to decline for a number of reasons. And that could have what to do with how and why the Scarlet Speedster is being mishandled now.
The team of Geoff Johns and Scott Kolins might not be quite at the legendary status just yet, but it might be just a matter of time. While their run on DC’s Flash might not be a classic now, the way DC is mishandling the character, it soon will be.I wouldn't jump to such conclusions just yet. See, one of the problems I have now with their run is the surprising amount of violence that turned up during their run, much more disturbing than anything that surfaced during Mark Waid's original run. Another is that Johns run certainly began to tumble downhill after issue #192. And still another is that at least twice, Kolins drew some rather annoying parts where two villains were depicted with runny noses! I didn't like it.
