Investors stock up on superhero comics
CBS reports that investors reeling from the recession are taking up comics instead:
"You find that a lot of people are taking that money and they are buying a lot of these vintage, what we call "blue chip" comics, and they're sandbagging them, because they know they're not going to lose their money," said Mountain View comic book store owner Joseph Levine. "They'll buy, say the first appearance of Spiderman at a relatively decent grade, and it can cost you upwards of $125,000 to $150,000."I just hope these investors aren't making the mistake of investing in more recent items that suffer from bad writing, because those are unlikely to maintain any monetary value thanks to the pretentious writing they've suffered from.
