New Wonder Woman TV series greenlighted after all, but...
If the following report is any indication, it's that this will be far removed from the original source material, maybe even overly PC:
And what if that jeans-jacket costume recently used in the comics turns out to be just something the producers of the proposed new TV series can build off of? All that'll tell is that they don't have the brains to think of these things themselves while shoving something uninspired on the original comics.
The project is described as a reinvention of the iconic D.C. comic in which Wonder Woman -- aka Diana Prince -- is a vigilante crime fighter in L.A. but also a successful corporate executive and a modern woman trying to balance all of the elements of her extraordinary life. What does this mean then? That it'll jettison the Greek mythology elements in favor of something formulaic? I can believe she could work as a corporate executive, but if this turns out to be yet another dumbing down of the source material, then it'll probably be shrugged off as just another run-of-the-mill adventure.

I wrote in-depth commentary, over the weekend. I wouldn't mind it as much, if Kelley didn't inject his Right-bashing, hyper-Leftism in everything, these days. It's one thing with his own characters, like Boston Public, but it's different with a character he doesn't own. His new show, Harry's Law, just did a jab on Rush Limbaugh, so will we expect that from his Diana?

Hey, John K, I finally started that Furman series you wanted me to inform you about. I don't know how to contact you.
Oh, and I also wrote an opinion on the Wonder Woman show.

I didn't even think about the pro-left possibilities. I just consider that a given with TV these days.

Shadow,
Best way to get me is either the Livejournal link or my email.

Put in something in the Subject line, so my spam folder doesn't think it is spam. Drop me a line, whenever.
TV tilts Left, but I've watched enough of Kelley to know to shoot up big red flags. I don't blame you, as, unfortunately, the pro-Left issues are usually first in my mind, anymore. Sighs.
Anyway, read your post. You did a good job.

Dang character length in username line restrictions. Heh. It is supposed to read "Killer Moth, as I want to use a real username," or something else. Just wanted to make that clear, but I shift the name full time.
