The continued deterioration of Rob Liefeld

Ethan Van Sciver is one of the not too many conservatives working in comics today (as an artist; it doesn't look likely that many conservative writers are able to land jobs, that's for sure), and according to this, he'd written on his Facebook page that he's willing to give Barack Obama the benefit of the doubt that he'll be willing to make improvements in his second term (though I honestly don't think we can count on that). But Rob Liefeld apparen't wasn't impressed, and took to attacking him on Twitter. His tweets included stuff like these:

If it wasn't clear before that Liefeld's a leftist, it is now. He's a pretty disrespectful one too, and this is probably the first time he's ever turned seriously hostile against another worker in the field over his political/conservative viewpoints. This post on The Outhousers (they may be trying some satirical approach to the subject, but I can't say I find it that amusing), tells that Van Sciver ran a poll about Liefeld's approval ratings, which he scored pretty low at, and his attacks on Van Sciver suggest he's merely being vindictive rather than trying to at least improve his manners.

It's clear that Liefeld's career has made it to nowheresville by this point, and his cavalier attitude sure isn't helping. Van Sciver suggested people confront him about it, and he said:

Oh, so then he tried to pretend he'd never acted up. Sigh. What a pity that Liefeld not only can't draw feet, he can't even react politely to criticism. Maybe it's time for him to try out a different career, though not in movies, as this post suggests he might be doing.

About me

  • I'm Avi Green
  • From Jerusalem, Israel
  • I was born in Pennsylvania in 1974, and moved to Israel in 1983. I also enjoyed reading a lot of comics when I was young, the first being Fantastic Four. I maintain a strong belief in the public's right to knowledge and accuracy in facts. I like to think of myself as a conservative-style version of Clark Kent. I don't expect to be perfect at the job, but I do my best.
