Disney brings the Star Wars license back to Marvel

So this week, the news was that Dark Horse's license for writing Star Wars comics has expired and Marvel is regaining what they began in 1978 for nearly a decade. But is this good news? Yahoo's UK division asked:
What do you think of this incredible deal? Will Marvel make better 'Star Wars' comics than its predecessor?
They used to make SW-based comics that entertained people for 9 years. But with Axel Alonso at the helm, I doubt they'll be able to repeat their success of yesteryear. After all, the writers they have working for them today are pretty poor, and I'm skeptical they'll want to assign one with a mind for clean entertainment.

I don't think the Force will be with them again this time around.

I would say I was excited by this, but I'm not given the hacks who work for Marvel these days. They'll probably hand Dan Slott one of the titles and have Vader or Palpatine switch bodies with Luke and become the Superior Skywalker.

About me

  • I'm Avi Green
  • From Jerusalem, Israel
  • I was born in Pennsylvania in 1974, and moved to Israel in 1983. I also enjoyed reading a lot of comics when I was young, the first being Fantastic Four. I maintain a strong belief in the public's right to knowledge and accuracy in facts. I like to think of myself as a conservative-style version of Clark Kent. I don't expect to be perfect at the job, but I do my best.
