Legion of Super-Heroes replaced with a futuristic Justice League
But now, it's all been replaced by a futuristic version of the Justice League:
With Legion of Super-Heroes now a title of the past, DC Comics is looking to keep interest in the heroes of the 31st century alive. Unfortunately, Justice League 3000 isn’t up to the job just yet.Nice to see Broken Frontier didn't go sugarcoated with this review, though under the circumstances, JL 3000 won't be up to the job at all. If the futuristic take on the League is less than heroic, chances are it mirrors a lot of the MO used in the series set in the present.
The Legion is dead. Long live… the Justice League? Well, not exactly. The titular team happens to be made up of clones of Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern Hal Jordan, and the Flash (Barry Allen, to be specific). Created by the Project Cadmus of the 31st century, this version of the Justice League is less than perfectly heroic.
It also looks like a weak knockoff of Marvel's 2099 line from the mid-90s, which wasn't very good either.
Labels: dc comics, Justice League of America, Legion of Super-Heroes
Ew.
I can understand not wanting to wade through yet another reboot of LSH. (Man, did the Bierbaums and Zero Hour ever do a number on what was once the most loyal group of comic fans around.) But cloned JL 3000? Yeah, that'll last about 8 issues.
