Ron Marz doesn't like pro-self-defense kiddie books

Here's some recent tweets he posted, where he expresses his dislike of a children's book to explain the right for bearing arms:

Aww, poor fellow, he doesn't like the illustrations, which, IMO, are pretty good for a children's book. What was he expecting, Rob Liefeld-quality illustrations?

And he thinks it's wrong for them to come up with one of their own? It's their right to develop a book if they want, and just like the comics medium shouldn't be considered liberal property only, neither should the children's book market.

I think they mean left-wing feminists, the kind who must want men to not be gentlemen who can come to the aid of an innocent woman in distress. If he'd just come to terms with how feminists of the liberal type, if any, only helped ruin society, then he'd understand why some conservatives are mad at them.

Umm, I checked the site, and they do offer bulk discounts through White Feather Press. But I guess he's counting on most folks not to bother checking on their own. Here's another tweet he wrote about a political candidate:

Okay, so he doesn't need to vote for whomever he's talking about. While we're on the subject, it's worth noting he advertised a party in memory of a certain comics champ who served in WW2:

So Marz is against guns, yet he loves a guy who used them in WW2, King Kirby, whose European war experiences can be read about on TwoMorrows. Marz may not think so, but while Kirby may have been a liberal, he certainly wasn't the kind Marz envisions. Otherwise, Sgt. Fury and his Howling Commandos (and Nick Fury, Agent of SHIELD, by extension) would never have come to be. Books and characters whom, I'm betting, Marz read about years before.

Labels: ,

One of the authors has received death threats from pacifist liberals who claim that they want "to stop gun violence." Of course.

Sales of the book were mediocre at first, but got a boost after Bill Maher mocked it on TV. Proving, once again, that all publicity is good publicity. Maybe DC and Marvel should get Maher to criticize their comics. :)

Marz's rants, though, probably don't reach a big enough audience to have an effect one way or another.

The art is awful

Has Marz stopped listening to anti-Semite Roger Waters yet?

Probably not. He'd tweeted about 2 weeks ago he still considered Waters worth listening to. That's one of the most hypocritical positions Marz has ever taken.

I maintain a strong belief in the public's right to knowledge and accuracy in facts. I like to think of myself as a conservative-style version of Clark Kent. I don't expect to be perfect at the job, but I do my best.
