Some artists drew Donald Trump in a supervillain's role
Trump may not be the best candidate you could find on the Republican list today, but depending on your view, an effort by a couple of artists to draw Trump in the role of villains like MODOK is pretty cheap:
Amid the tumult of New York Comic Con, i09.com was able to zero in on one of the burning questions of the day: What would Donald Trump look like as various supervillains?What bothers me here is that they don't seem to have tried drawing any politicians from the left in the same roles to at least balance out their act. So a GOP candidate is a big deal to them for this "challenge", but not figures like the Clintons or Jimmy Carter. And I'm disappointed a fine artist like Staton had to take part in this politicized mess.
So one of the website’s contributors headed down Artists Alley to ask a handful of creators, including Joe Staton, Jim Mahfood and Nathan Fox, to try their hands at it. And, boy, are we glad they did. [...]

This didn't have anything to do with Marvel, beyond an artist choosing to depict Trump as MODOK.

Technically true, but I don't see Marvel doing anything to stop that kind of practice, either. Their character, their IP and all. Especially after merging with Disney and how protective Disney can be over the images of their copyright characters. (Of course, this is just goofing/unofficial art, but Disney once sued a daycare over a Mickey Mouse image, so.) But, fine, I was probably rash when I said that.
Meanwhile, if I'm wrong about that, okay, fine, but this matter can truly be blamed on Marvel:
