Who would've thought a writer as trollish as Slott is would finally decide to scrap his Twitter page? Yet that's what he apparently did, and all that remains to be seen now is whether he'll leave the site altogether:

Dan Slott, writer of Marvel’s Amazing Spider-Man, Clone Conspiuracy and Eisner winner for Silver Surfer has never been backwards when coming forwards on Twitter. I’ve certainly had a to-do with him occasionally (when he chooses to briefly unblock me) and while he has been vocally opposed to the very existence of Bleeding Cool, at one point comparing us to the makers of snuff films, he has also retweeted very occasional posts that others chose to ignore, such as charges made against comic creator Eric Basaldua.

He does have the reputation of having a hair trigger response to criticism (as, to be fair, so do I) and his involvement across the internet with matters relating to Spider-Man and other issues have been legion.

But today, while he had been debating back and forth with readers about the election of Donald Trump, suddenly… he was gone.

His involvement in numerous issues around the web has been notorious, trolling anonymously on other people's sites, even insulting women, and going out of his way to support far-left causes. So contemptuous he even turned against his fellow leftists like the people at Bleeding Cool. He won't be missed on Twitter. Yet I doubt he'll concentrate on how to produce better scripts now either. In fact, don't be shocked if he's got plans to write up stories full of Trump-bashing in the next 4 years that make any and all superhero stories from the 80s featuring Reagan in negative lights look utterly tame by comparison.

One of the last tweets he posted held the position that writer Steve Bannon is nothing but what leftists like to call a "bigot", plain and simple. I will decidedly provide some info here to counter Slott's disgraceful parroting:

Steve Bannon is a staunch supporter of the Jewish state who is committed to fighting anti-Semitism, asserted Aaron Klein, Breitbart’s Jerusalem bureau chief.

Klein was reacting to the baseless smears of anti-Semitism against Bannon, Breitbart’s former executive chairman who was named by President-elect Donald Trump earlier this week as the chief strategist of the new White House administration.

Klein told BuzzFeed: “These smears are laughable to anyone who knows Bannon, a committed patriot who is deeply concerned about the growing threats to Israel. He has been particularly concerned with the dangerous trend of anti-Semitic and anti-Israel sentiment on U.S. college campuses. While at Breitbart, he pitched countless articles on these and other themes in defense of the Jewish state.”

Breitbart’s Joel Pollak made similar remarks: “I have worked with Stephen K. Bannon, President-elect Donald Trump’s new chief strategist and senior counselor, for nearly six years at Breitbart News. I can say, without hesitation, that Steve is a friend of the Jewish people and a defender of Israel, as well as being a passionate American patriot and a great leader.”

Bannon's also got the backing of an Israeli municipal politician. If Slott believes Bannon is an "anti-semite", then he's cast doubt on the notion he's pro-Israel himself. Besides, where is he on the topic of Muslim anti-semitism? Oh, that's right, he's already decided where he stands, as he made clear in the past.
