TV Supergirl's leftist pandering now adds transgender issues to the mess

The Supergirl TV show's been renewed for a needless 4th season, and they sure don't let up on all the forced pandering to social justice, do they? Case in point (via Breitbart):
The CW's Supergirl is casting a transgender character who will play a significant role in the DC Comics-based show's upcoming fourth season, ComicBook.com has learned from multiple sources.

This news originates in a casting notice for a character called “Nia Nal,” described as a transgender woman in her early 20s. The character is being cast with open ethnicity, meaning that they do not have a specific ethnic background in mind. She may be positioned to take over the newsroom, as she comes in with a strong journalism background a la Snapper Carr and is described as a “young Cat Grant type.”

[...] According to the casting call obtained by ComicBook.com, Jia will be “a confident, wunderkind of a fashionista. Once a political speechwriter, Nia is the newest addition to the CatCo investigative reporting team. With her she brings sparkling wit and biting humor but under that banter-y, chic facade, lays a soulful young woman who has much to offer the world.”
It's not too hard to guess what kind of exaggerated notion they're trying to push, that transgenders are supposedly very confident in everything, and you can probably guess why he/she is touted as some sort of fashion lover. The series is clearly long past its prime, as the encroaching SJW politics led to its artistic collapse ever since it left CBS for CW's network. Whoever still watches it I have no idea, and it's certainly not giving a reason to be encouraged now. The part about no ethnicity is also bizarre. Probably their way of finding an excuse not to explore different nationalities, racial backgrounds and other such ideas instead, because all they care about is the transgender issues, at the expense of everything else, including the series' artistic merits, or lack thereof.

It's a terrible shame the Girl of Steel's being desecrated for the sake of this. I noticed that the most recent comics series will be continuing publication after all, but if it continues to involve the same kind of SJW-pandering it also did of recent, which is sadly likely to happen with Brian Bendis around, then there'll be no reason to bother about that either. The terrible reality is that Otto Binder and Al Plastino's famous creation has been one of the biggest victims of PC for a long time.
