Slash Film injects propaganda into their announcement of a movie based on Valiant's Faith
People come in all shapes and sizes, so superheroes should too. While there have been plenty of male superheroes who haven’t had the traditional buff physique that a superhero has had in comic books, female comic book characters have often been drawn with unrealistic body proportions. They have super small waists and sizeable bosoms and backsides, creating unrealistic expectations, especially for younger, impressionable readers. But one superhero from Valiant Comics has tried to change that, and now she’ll get her own movie. If it's really such a big deal to make a movie with a stout star, fine, but quit pushing that dumb propaganda that readers of any age are just brainless idiots being taken advantage of, or that there literally was never overweight folks of either gender in the medium. Let's remember Etta Candy from Wonder Woman's cast, shall we?
Faith is the first prominent plus-sized female superhero to grace the pages of Valiant Comics, and Sony Pictures has ordered a live-action adaptation of her comic book for the big screen. [...]
As for a movie based on Valiant's Faith, why do I get the vibe this'll turn out to be plagued with social justice propaganda? If that's the case, it'll be no surprise if it tanks at the box office.
