Mark Waid's new contempt for heroics continues with "Insufferable"
The first weekly series Waid is rolling out with the Thrillbent launch is Insufferable, a dark and humorous turn on superhero dynamics illustrated by Irredeemable artist Peter Krause. After his Irredeemable story, I don't trust there to be much of anything amusing or dramatic in this. The darkness is the tipoff, and after all the flood of darkness we've seen coming down the pike over the past decade, it's the last thing we really need now. Even if it's black comedy, that's not helping.
"It's a dramedy about what happens when your superhero sidekick grows up to be an arrogant, self-righteous, self-aggrandizing Kanye of a man," Waid says, "and about the only case that could ever make him re-team, however reluctantly, with the 'old man' who raised him."
Labels: indie publishers, msm propaganda
Waid has really lost it, it seems. Both "Iredeemable" and "Insufferable" don't sound interesting at all... we really need a reconstruction of superhero comics, NOT another deconstruction.
