Erik Larsen should look at himself in the mirror

When commenting about Orson Scott Card, the author of Savage Dragon said:

*Whistles* Looks like we have us here another dragon. Sigh. Well, I'm sure the DragonCon will be better off without him around.

Labels: , , , , ,

Well, then, I won't be spending any money on Savage Dragon any time soon, that's for sure.

Careful, Avi, or Larsen will show up with some outrageous outrage, too. First, Slott came here, and then Layman. Come on, Larsen or Simone, make it a trifecta. Hehe.

Seriously, though, what Larsen said is loathsome, but no surprise. I love how the ministers of tolerance, as always, can't tolerate the one person who doesn't think like they do. Every time. Same with Card, acting like he's the Hate-Monger, or something.

Yeah, who's the Hate-Monger(s) in this case, eh?

Fuck Larsen. This lunatic is a 2000 and 2004 election truther who once had a cover of Savage Dragon with the hero punching President Bush in the face.

Who's vile?

Hube, thinking about your comment about Larsen drawing Bush being punched in the face, it made me think of Alex Ross' infamous "Bush vampire" image.

Which was more offensive? That should stump a few people. Heheh.

I'd forgotten about that, Hube.. thanks for the link. What a maroon.

I'm embarrassed to say that Larsen is from the same state as me..

Indeed, I talked about it briefly here last July when I did this post (http://carl-carlscomics.blogspot.com/2012/07/minnesota-comics-creators.html) about creators from my state... hard to believe I'd forgotten about that.

Well, Carl, your state still has James Lileks, so don't beat yourself up too much. Heh.

I keep remembering that interview with Jack Kirby- how he spoke, how he thought- and I try and imagine how an industry which was politically aware from the 1910s but also hard headed and mature turned into this circle jerk of deviants and hacks who are so jealous of their delusional status at the same time as they try and be the apostles to the emotionally retarded.

Kirby, Wood, Eisner- all of them really- reached entire generations. These loons barely reach the equivalent audience of a business newspaper and claim some papal infallibility into the bargain.

Did the worst detritus of the radical press of the early 1970s somehow steal the comics genre from us?

Awww, how 'bout that? Larsen, too, has blocked me from following him on Twitter.

What a bunch of hypocritical crybabies.

We stopped carrying Savage Dragon in our store when Larsen starting spouting paranoia in his comics. You know how many people noticed? ZERO. No one has been buying his stuff for years.

I sure haven't been buying his stuff for years.

Don't forget the Larsen is a proven sexist.

I don't expect to be perfect at the job, but I do my best.
