Dan Slott incurred the wrath of LGBTs and SJWs

I almost missed this story from at least a week ago: Slott managed to piss off LGBT activists, and by the same token, SJWs! The same man who, along with at least a handful of other writers in the biz, didn't want to support Orson Scott Card for similar reasons.

So when Card objects to homosexuality, that's wrong. But, judging by how no creators close to Slott seem to have taken him to task, it's clear that when Slott does something that rubs them the wrong way, that's actually acceptable.

He's allegedly apologized, but has apparently blocked anybody who disagreed with him, and there's little chance he'll reverse that. Nor is he likely to apologize to me or any of the righties he ever scorned for being Spider-fans and Mary Jane Watson fans. For now, he's learned an suitable lesson: the SJWs won't all grant him immunity for slighting their visions, unlike some of his colleagues, who will.

Labels: , ,

I don't understand what he did or is apologizing for.

Slott and Card have one thing in common: they're both very poor writers who lack little common sense and tact.

Actually Card is a pretty good writer. Pastwach, the Ender's Game series and the Alvin Maker series are all excellent. Slott is the one who is terrible.

...can I help it if Card's stories don't "Wow!" me?

Is Slott really this hyper-freaking-sensitive? Obviously he is, but come on! How did this turd go through life this scared of criticism? He seems to go out of his way to flex his 'internet muscles', whether it's against John Byrne, JMS, Bleeding Cool, critical fans, etc. And the way he practically bent over and grabbed his ankles to beg for leniency from his fellow leftists is beyond pathetic. His attempt to remind followers that he was fine with a black Peter Parker was so shallow and desperate.

As for Card, I never read any of his work. Would've liked to have read his story for Adventures of Superman, but DC went into appeasement mode. Still, if one of his creations became popular enough that it ended up getting developed into a motion picture, he must have done something right.

...I'd settle for a smart Peter Parker in the near future.

You guys are aware that Card proclaims himself politically left, likes the idea of communitarianism, and is a Mormon?

Yeah, we know. I first noted it at least 2 years ago. Card's even done a few things that are questionable or objectionable too. But the SJWs who attacked him weren't doing it for any altruistic reasons.

Oh I know you know about the political leanings, I just wasn't sure on either the Mormon or communitarian bits.

...how do you explain Twilight then?
