PETA wants Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles to quit dairy pizza
The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (TMNT) should go vegan and switch to dairy-free pizza, an animal rights group has urged. And I guess Nicktoons is going to cave to this petty demand of theirs? That'll be a shame, and only ensure the continued downhill trip the Ninja Turtles are taking in an age flooded with political correctness. A quartet of fictional characters should not have to be affected negatively by dairy ingredients, and PETA know that's far from the worst thing that could happen. If Nicktoons is smart, they'll ignore this laughable request for a change. But I wouldn't bet on the chance they will.
People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) believe the crime fighting foursome could inspire fans watching their new series to “try it themselves” by making their trademark snack vegan.
Leonardo, Raphael, Donatello and Michelangelo will return to our TV screens for the Rise of the TMNT, a Nickelodeon reboot set to air in September.
“Modern kids are embracing vegan food, so why shouldn’t modern Ninja Turtles?” said Lisa Lange, senior vice-president at PETA.
“Vegan pizza is popular, and it’s healthier and far kinder to animals than old-fashioned dairy cheese pizza. PETA thinks that’s something the ‘heroes in a half shell’ would support.”
Labels: animation, indie publishers, msm propaganda, politics
Given that the Turtles reboot is well into development, and targeted to premiere later this year, I highly doubt PETA's request will influence Nickelodeon one way or another.

Heh. PETA must be bored. Meanwhile, they're making April O'Neil black in this new series, so gives us something more important to discuss?
For a proper history on Mirage or source material April and the race issue:

Short answer: she was always meant to be white, but that perm, man....
And quite frankly, the original controversy of casting Jason Biggs as Leonardo in the 2012 series was a more deservedly bigger deal. Not that Nick cared what we thought, and just did what it wanted. Although, Biggs only lasted a season and a half, which isn't a bad consolation in totality. Now, why he stopped voicing Leo is something else.
Also, yes, most cartoon episodes take about, what, 9 months to develop? Be a little late to slip in PETA-approved pizza edits.

I'll have to try and write about the changes they made to April O'Neil in time. Thanks for the note.

As long as the turtles stay green, it don't matter what Color April is!
