Kurt Busiek manufactures outrage against an old indie comic
Apparently, with nothing better to do in regards to the industry, Busiek chose to attack Comicsgate and crowdfunding artists like Art Thibert with the following:
I couldn't tell if he'd written an earlier tweets that was later erased, so I assume this petty swipe was deliberately typed up in order to suit his desires for spite. Anyway, as Ethan Van Sciver noted later:
He probably doesn't think his own Astro City is an indie comic either, nor an early one he worked on at Eclipse called The Liberty Project. For now, what's clear is that Busiek stooped very low, running the gauntlet of insulting whites by making it sound like nobody's allowed to conceive white heroes anymore. If he's planning on using crowdfunding options for any new Astro City tales, good luck with that, because quite a few readers have become so alienated by his denigrating attitude, I doubt they'd be willing to help him reach the sums he'd ask for.
Meanwhile, Thibert's campaign for funding a new take on B&W seems to have worked out very nicely, and Busiek's bound to have helped him, which is surely not what he had in mind. In any case, he does owe an apology to Thibert, IMO.

You have to look at the tweet in context. Some comics gate types were trying to claim the multiculultural diverse idealism of comicsgate by using as evidence a comic called Black and White. Busier was pointing out that the comic book, despite the claim, had nothing to do with race, and that comicsgaters are not the pro-diversity people hey were claiming to be.
