Bendis' sales numbers on Superman are collapsing

Whatever "success" Brian Bendis had at Marvel before, it's not working at DC now, as sales numbers are well below 100,000 copies, and:
Readers in large part are not interested in Bendis’ Superman stories. Superman #7, which just came out this month received an average user rating of 4.5 on ComicBookRoundUp. This is the lowest user rating since Bendis took over Superman. It’s been steadily declining since the first issue.

Users made it clear why they weren’t pleased with Bendis’ direction on Superman. Many cited Bendis’ lack of understanding of the characters specifically Lois Lane.
Yes, he's just so increasingly determined to pander to social justice beliefs, including making Clark Kent look like a beta-male, that he also goes to such lengths as to depict Lois very poorly along the way. Why, he even puts the lie to the notion the leftists in charge of the properties are actually trying to advance women's status in comicdom. That's "social justice" for you, I guess. One the SJWs will never complain about, any more than they did about his maltreatment of Scarlet Witch and Jean Grey when he was at Marvel.

But why wouldn't it be a shock if DC decides, despite the evident failure, to keep employing Bendis till the bitter end? They've become so far-left, it'd figure they wouldn't want to hire any real talent who take the time to conceive more palatable depictions of these famous fictional characters. The corporate entertainment industry's become so bankrupt of artistry and common sense, they're unlikely to take any positive steps for the better, and Heroes in Crisis only enforces this perception. That's why forecasts for DC don't look good at all.

  • I was born in Pennsylvania in 1974, and moved to Israel in 1983. I also enjoyed reading a lot of comics when I was young, the first being Fantastic Four. I maintain a strong belief in the public's right to knowledge and accuracy in facts. I like to think of myself as a conservative-style version of Clark Kent. I don't expect to be perfect at the job, but I do my best.
