That's who Gerard Way considers an inspiration

The NME website interviewed comics writer and musician Gerard Way, and at the end, who does he consider his greatest influence:
The person I’ve met in comics that left me starstruck was…

“It’s [Glaswegian writer] Grant Morrison. I’d said how much his stuff had inspired me in an article about MCR in Spin magazine. Turns out Grant was a big fan of ‘The Black Parade’ and would listen to it when he was writing Batman.”
The overrated writer who exploited X-Men for "pacifist" propaganda, and surely even his drug metaphors? Sigh. Why is it always these bizarros whom these modern writers consider their influence and inspiration? Morrison's work on Green Lantern is no improvement. Why doesn't Larry Hama ever get cited as an influence? Guess these leftists are so far in that direction, they can't consider his work on the original GI Joe run worth recommendation either. A real shame, but this is basically what the industry's come down to.

Do they even know who Hama is?

About me

  • I'm Avi Green
  • From Jerusalem, Israel
  • I was born in Pennsylvania in 1974, and moved to Israel in 1983. I also enjoyed reading a lot of comics when I was young, the first being Fantastic Four. I maintain a strong belief in the public's right to knowledge and accuracy in facts. I like to think of myself as a conservative-style version of Clark Kent. I don't expect to be perfect at the job, but I do my best.
