Kurt Busiek and Ron Marz support politically motivated indictment of Donald Trump, and Phil Jiminez despises Ron deSantis

Here's one of Busiek's regrettably politcized tweets, where he responds to the disturbing indictment in New York of former POTUS Trump like this: Ahem. They're going after him on flimsy charges that make the USA look more like a banana republic than a serious democracy. But, it sounds, sadly enough, like Busiek dislikes the man more than the alleged crime, and that's the problem.

Besides Busiek, Ron Marz also chimed in with the following: Oh, he clearly is gleeful about all this, and again, this demonstrates how even Trump's leftist detractors in the comics medium are guided more by ideology than belief in justice. Clearly, they don't have faith in what the USA was founded on, assuming it lasts much longer. What we're seeing going on today is very dispiriting.

In addition to the above examples of creators going political, the artist Phil Jiminez also recently provided an example of LGBT victimology in response to news about Florida governor Ron deSantis taking steps to defend children against indoctrination and mutilating surgeries: One must wonder if Jiminez still supports this position after the horrific bloodbath at a Christian school in Nashville, TN, committed by a transsexual woman claiming to be a man, whose victims were mainly women. Why, what if the culprit had attacked a Jewish synagogue? Would Jiminez be comfortable with a LGBT ideologue visiting horrors upon Jack Kirby and Stan Lee's Jewish brethren? This is very disappointing, and disrespects all the Golden Age contributors to DC who brought Wonder Woman about, a creation Jiminez once worked on in the early 2000s, and after this embarrassment, I'd rather not waste time on Jiminez's work if these are the positions he's going to uphold.

So there we have 2 writers espousing anti-Trump positions, and an artist who's damning a responsible Republican by proxy. The comics medium really is getting tainted.

  • I was born in Pennsylvania in 1974, and moved to Israel in 1983. I also enjoyed reading a lot of comics when I was young, the first being Fantastic Four. I maintain a strong belief in the public's right to knowledge and accuracy in facts. I like to think of myself as a conservative-style version of Clark Kent. I don't expect to be perfect at the job, but I do my best.
