Trina Robbins disappoints with a politically motivated project

Fox's KTVU-2 interviewed veteran artist Robbins about her career, and while some of the history is interesting, everything's ruined by what they say she's doing now, at the end of the article:
Robbins says she is currently producing a pro-choice comic anthology. The proceeds will go to Planned Parenthood.
Yikes...she's doing a project to boost an abortion clinic network that was founded by Margaret Sanger, a racist whose goals were tricking black women into getting abortions? In more recent years, it was discovered they harvested infant parts for human tissue procurement, in one of the most repulsive examples of profiteering at the expense of human life. More recently, they've even entered the "gender reassignment" business. And Robbins sees this truly disgusting organization as something to donate to?

Now, after reading this news, I'm going to have to take Robbins' career with a grain of salt, and separate art from artist. This is also a slap in the face to Wonder Woman creator Bill Marston, since when he began the series Robbins once illustrated a story for, he'd depicted the army lady WW took her civilian last name Prince from as planning to get married (and becoming Diana White), which is hardly what the modern leftists Robbins is now pandering to believe in. The ignorance Robbins puts on display is very devastating.

About me

  • I'm Avi Green
  • From Jerusalem, Israel
  • I was born in Pennsylvania in 1974, and moved to Israel in 1983. I also enjoyed reading a lot of comics when I was young, the first being Fantastic Four. I maintain a strong belief in the public's right to knowledge and accuracy in facts. I like to think of myself as a conservative-style version of Clark Kent. I don't expect to be perfect at the job, but I do my best.
