Gal Gadot feels "liberated" after 3rd WW film cancelled
Israeli actress Gal Gadot feels "liberated" now that her time portraying the iconic superheroine Wonder Woman has come to an end.If a new take on WW is filmed, one can only wonder what actress will take the role next. Or, what era will it be set in, and most importantly, whether they'll inject divisive politics yet again? Because Warner Bros. is still veering towards wokeness, and chances are a new WW movie coming later will continue to adhere to divisive leftist dogma. So what's to look forward to?
In an interview with Total Film magazine, Gadot said that no longer being "tethered" to a single role frees her to pursue other roles and projects. [...]
A third Wonder Woman movie had been planned following the release of Wonder Woman 1984 in 2020. However, this movie and many other DC projects were cancelled when Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn was brought in to oversee the DC film universe. Many DC characters are being recast as a result, including Wonder Woman.
I can't really care Gadot's okay with shedding the role of WW, since it was anything but an artistic masterpiece to begin with when her take on the Amazon princess first debuted in 2017. Why, looking at her resume on the IMDB, it's hard to say she's got much of a legacy, any more than most other Hollywood performers of the past decade or so, or even Zack Snyder, whose dark vision colored the Justice League movie she appeared in.
And whether there's a new take on WW in planning stages, I'm just not up to bothering about it when the time comes, because if the past decade's said anything, it's that PC is bound to overshadow any and all productions going forward.
