San Francisco artist defends sleazy LGBTQ propaganda
During San Francisco’s annual Pride festival, Fernando Velez, a 34-year-old from Puerto Rico, showcased his vibrant collection of comics, which feature LGBTQ superheroes inspired by real people in San Francisco. This brings to mind the recent scandal of the LA Dodgers celebrating a drag event with a group that insulted Catholicism. And if that's the kind of people this "artist" is upholding, there's clearly a problem at hand here. That's the kind of "real people" he considers "inspirational"? And then, there's the part about "represenation" to ponder. If that's what he cares about, it's all he'll care about, with surely the most troubling part being he considers LGBT ideology the only thing worth representation, not his background from Puerto Rico. I get the feeling he could've been of Bulgarian descent, and he'd still consider LGBT ideology all that matters. And that's just the problem - nobody on the left today believes there's anything worthwhile in nationality and ethnicity. That aside, he's also saying he couldn't relate to Spider-Man or Superman or any other famous superhero creation from past eras, and it's insulting to the intellect.
Velez said he was 25 when he created and authored the first book in the “Kraven Comics Universe,” aiming to provide LGBTQ representation with his creative vision.
“I feel like when I was growing up, I didn't have the representation, and I couldn't relate to any character,” he told SFGATE during the festival. “When I look at my community, I’m like there’s so many heroes that need to be celebrated.”
Velez said his first powerful, extravagant superhero character was inspired by Sister Roma, one of San Francisco’s most notable drag queens.
Before moving to Los Angeles, Velez said he was influenced by the culture and community in the city of San Francisco, where he lived for 14 years. He seems to be using that line as a way of claiming LGBT practitioners are saints. And all this coming at a time when in NYC, there was a march where attendants were chanting out that they're "coming for your children". Not to mention a transsexual lawmaker in New Hampshire was arrested for child porn possession. This is precisely what makes his statements offensive. So LGBTQ matter, but not Hungarians and their national culture?
“I always call it my playground, like my muse, my inspiration,” he said. “That's why the heroes' base is actually in San Francisco.”
Velez said he launched his first book during the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic through the help of community fundraisers. Nine years later, he’s written about 13 different comic books, each about LGBTQ heroes trying to protect the human race.
“The whole classics [series] is about the six LGBTQ heroes that mostly forgive humanity for the way we've been treated for so many generations, because ironically, humanity's survival lies in the hands of these gay heroes,” he said.
The comic creator said he’s had several reactions to his comics amid controversy surrounding LGBTQ books for children.
“I see a lot of transgender individuals that cry when they see themselves represented in comics because growing up, we all want to feel like we matter, we belong, and to be able to give that representation is so important,” he said.
Velez added that he loves seeing straight parents show kids the comic books saying “Look, when somebody tells you [LGBTQ] people are bad, you tell them that they're superheroes.”
In recent years, LGBTQ “book bans” have caught nationwide attention, causing an uproar as some try to push for censorship of LGBTQ-themed books. Most recently, board members of the San Ramon Unified School District discussed the district libraries' book policies, as some parents called for LGBTQ-themed books to be removed, SFGATE previously reported. And this sounds reminiscent of how Germany's National Socialists gave away free copies of Mein Kamph during the WW2 era. Several years ago, an Italian paper caused an outrage by doing something similar. When these movements are willing to go miles out of their way to distribute their propaganda free of charge, that's what makes it dangerous. Especially when same movements also try to get Abigail Shrier's book about how their ideology's lead to mutilation of girls censored, and then they have the gall to lecture about censorship?
Velez’s comic books are also not immune to controversy, with some saying they shouldn’t be viewed by children.
“But no, we gave free books to all the drag queen study hours around the nation,” Velez said in response to the negative reactions.
Despite the controversy, Velez believes it's important to keep pushing his creative works and pursue a movie adaptation of his comics. This is most utterly atrocious, and demonstrates all the more how these ideologues are far more interested in indoctrination than in serious entertainment and merit. Why, they're also so hung up on their beliefs, they're willing to throw tons of innocent and defenseless women under the bus for the sake of living the lifestyle they are, and appear unwilling to have a heterosexual marriage. That aside, these LGBT ideologues are also going out of their way to flood perversions in public and destroy nuclear families when they say other people's children are "theirs". And this shame of an artist has the gall to obscure that? Ugh. If his comics get made into movies, that too will be terrible. Especially if Disney produces them, based on where they're going today.
“We cannot just sit back and let them win,” Velez said. “We have to push our content and our books everywhere.”
