Superman's rogues gallery is "weak?"

Surely this is a joke I find in this article from the Oklahoman (may require registration), but, in discussing the debut of All-Star Superman, writer-editor Grant Morrison says the following (first published on Newsarama):
"Superman's Rogues Gallery is pretty weak, so I've tried to add some characters I think might enhance the mix. Solaris, the Tyrant Sun from the 'DC 1 Million' series, gets a makeover and a return visit, and I figured Superman could use a 'Subhuman' counterpart, so I've created Krull, an evolved dinosaur dictator who rules a monstrous civilization at the center of the Earth. He's only in the story for a few pages, but the concept is strong and feels like one that could be used again," Morrison told Newsarama.com.
No kidding. Does this mean that Lex Luthor is nothing but a dinosaur-minded mad scientist? Or that General Zod, pre-or-post Crisis, is just a thud? And while John Byrne's treatment of women does come as a problem to me (leading to some of his work to have to be taken with a grain of salt at best), I can say in fairness that he did re-intro plenty of old characters for the new generation (Luthor as a millionaire, Metallo as a recurring rogue) with panache and relish, and Darkseid maintained his status well as a warlord.

Whatever be the case here, this is yet one more in which the readers are told what to think/believe. And one thing's for sure - as a Superfan, I'm not happy with what Morrison is saying. No, I'm insulted, as I'm sure even Siegal and Shuster would be if they were still alive to see what he said.

And who's to know if even the All-Star takes on the character will come as any better than the ones of yore? Sorry, I'm not impressed.
