Waid and white privilege
Pro tip: Before politely correcting someone's grammar, make sure it's a fellow white male of privilege or suffer the consequences.— Mark Waid (@MarkWaid) June 23, 2015
Why do I get the feeling he's insulting minorities with that puzzler? And this is somebody who's been complaining about the Confederate flag recently! Or is he saying that only whites count for criticism of bad grammar? On Twitter, it shouldn't have to matter so much; with only 140 character space, anyone can look for ways to shorten their comments, and that's why it's better not to complain to anyone about poor spelling at all, regardless of race, nationality and gender, because on Twitter, it's all far more deliberate (words like "you" can be shorted to just "u", for example).
People like Waid can sure make petty arguments, but this is ridiculous.

Judging from Waid's overall crazy leftism, I'd go with this theory. Unless he is finally being a little self-deprecating about "Check your privilege" and the anti-White sewer that is Twitter.
Nah, but it's fun to speculate.

Again, sites like Twitter seem to be the reason why common sense is now on the endangered list.

I took it as an anti-PC comment -- sounds like he attempted to correct someone's (a minority's) grammar, and got ripped for it.
If so, good. Nothing like moonbats getting eaten by their own.
