Another Bollywood actor adapts movie into comic

India's News 18 reports about another movie being adapted to comics over on their side of the globe:
South Cinema star Vishnu Manchu is currently busy with the shoot of his upcoming film titled Kannappa. Amidst the ongoing shoot, Vishnu unveiled the first volume of the comic book, based on his film’s character of Kannappa. This event was held on the occasion of his father, actor Mohan Babu’s birthday. The Kannappa comic book launch took place on Tuesday, March 19, on the birthday of Mohan Babu. As per more information, it is based on the life of Bhakta Kannappa and titled Kannappa Story Book Volume 1. The book unveiling was done by Mohan Babu, at the Mohan Babu University, Rangampeta, in Tirupati, Telangana. At the occasion, Vishnu Manchu spoke about his decision to launch this comic. He revealed that he wanted everyone to know this story, as it is the “most compelling tale” he read. He added, “I believed that this was a fantastic place to start when it came to empowering the youth to take ownership of our history.” He concluded by saying that he “wanted Kannappa’s perseverance and dedication to serve as an example for everyone.”
Interesting that India's industry is taking advantage of adapting films into comics, including this one based on what happens to be a fantasy adventure. And it's another plus if this is meant to be a story about encouraging good role models like selflessness and bravery. Ideas that've been tragically watered down in USA entertainment in favor of wokeism. Exactly why, if the Indian film and comics industry has better stories to offer, it could surely be a good idea to check them out instead, along with Japanese manga.

  • I was born in Pennsylvania in 1974, and moved to Israel in 1983. I also enjoyed reading a lot of comics when I was young, the first being Fantastic Four. I maintain a strong belief in the public's right to knowledge and accuracy in facts. I like to think of myself as a conservative-style version of Clark Kent. I don't expect to be perfect at the job, but I do my best.
