Jim Zub laments that the new Dungeons & Dragons film omits the franchise creators from its credits
My only genuine disappointment during the #DnDMovie is that they didn't give the creators their due.

Hasbro didn't create Dungeons & Dragons or the Forgotten Realms.
Gary Gygax, Dave Arneson + Ed Greenwood deserved at least a Special Thanks.@JM_Goldstein @JohnFDaley @DnDMovie
Gee, he noticed something that even Chuck Dixon apparently suffered from when it comes to his creator credits on Batman and other DC series in the past decade! And that's quite possibly affected quite a few other past writers and artists from DC/Marvel who aren't named Lee/Kirby. Yes, folks like Gygax and company are being kicked to the curb by the modern corporate ownerships of their famous creations, which, most inconveniently, have also undergone PC transformations, a problem that's now sadly plaguing even classic storybooks from authors like Roald Dahl, Ian Fleming and Agatha Christie. It's nothing to be taken lightly. But Zub, unsurprisingly, won't discuss the issue more in depth than he actually did, because "diplomacy" matters so much more.I know those Special Thanks credits that zip by seem inconsequential, but when you're a creative person contributing to these massive intellectual properties it matters. That small acknowledgement is the absolute bare minimum in terms of awareness and respect.

It's certainly a shame if the movie short changes the creators/founders of the original TSR, which is disrespectful, and if the movie's box office doesn't do well, as is estimated to be the result, that could be due to the PC changes made to the board games backfiring upon the movie by extension. After all, who in the know really wants to put money into the pockets of people who're insulting the franchise behind their backs?
